Perfect Blue 1997
Neon Genesis Evangelion meets Pulse. Go in with high expectations. You will not be disappointed. I'm not into horror, I'm not into anime, but this was one of the best films I've watched this year. Blue Is the Warmest Color 2013
People trash this movie on Letterboxd and I get it completely. There are undeniable issues surrounding the filming process, the handling of appetite, sex, lesbian representation, and abandonment of the original comic’s crucial themes. But as a sucker of slice of life, I love this film and rewatch it often. I love every shot, dialogue, and performance of the three hours and still haven’t found a film that captures life and human emotion quite like this one.
