    all time pantheon type, you-have-to-see-it-to-believe-it-type of film

    operates on a rare wave of energy, maybe like Love Exposure if it wasn't m̶a̶d̶e̶ ̶b̶y̶ about a pervert dork, and instead about fate, family bonds, all good men are brothers, coexistence, and cool dudes having a good time.

    that being said, I wish the fight scenes were actually good (not expecting Lau Kar-leung level ofc, but this was at its best on par with a bad Lucha Libre movie), and some audiovisual…

    Beautiful striking skies.

    kind of astonishing to find out that the "blueprint" for Bollywood films, with their vibrant colors and music, takes so many queues from silent films. Not just the Soviet-esque agrarian montages, there quite possibly is an homage to The Phantom Carriage in here as well. The scrappy epic sweep of Mother India is as classically staged as it is progressive minded.
