The Shadow Strays 2024
Timo's The Raid 2 to his Night Comes For Us. Doesn't maintain the level of exhaustion/exhilerationn of Timo's best and struggles to maintain coherence amongst the genre expectation checklist, but is filled to the brim with nasty, squelshy violence and brutal, precise action choreography. Shame it's foundation is too overly similar to The Night Comes For Us and its final act remains easily anticipated.

Transfusion 2023
Solid but unfortunately dissapointing. Nable eschews a decent premise and his obvious talent for staging action in favour of some relatively dull drama cliches. This isn't to say the film is without merit but the pacing is often too incoherent and the plotting relatively messy, with its resolution being all too contrived and frustrating.
Shows promise as Nable's directorial debut, but unfortunately doesn't quite come together as well as I'd hoped.

The Batman 2022
Perhaps not the best Batman movie, or a personal favorite for me. This is still easily, the most definitive version of the character on screen. Still significantly less stylised much like Nolan's films but entertains a much more noir-ish tone, mixing 70s/80s corrupt cop dramas with the darker/nastier 90s/00s slasher/serial killer flicks. An initally odd pairing that has novelty on its side... Especially considering the state of superhero movies as of late. Unfortunately succumbs to some frustrating franchise building nonsense…

Knives Out 2019
Pretty much going to agree with the consensus with this one.
Knives out is a fun, winking and delightfully twisted mix of dark humor and murder mystery with a stacked cast doing some insanely good work. Although some aspects of the finale didnt surprise me it is still an entertaining experience to watch everything unfold with such elan. Only real problems I have here is that the first act feels a little clunky and awkward and some of the humor…Translated from by
