Contrary to how a lot of the world views America, vast majority of it is a decrepit crumbling hole. However, within this dilapidation there is beauty to be found - as beauty is to be found wherever there life is. The way Kelly Reichardt captures and renders America is close to how I also view it based on my time in the Midwest. Her version of Americana is certainly my favorite from all the others…
Only now realizing that what's even worse than Bae Suzy is Park Bo-gum. His puppy dog eye acting is so baddddd. Darcy Paquet cameo? Also bad.
Terribly offensive in that this film not just doesn't rise above what it tries to criticize but completely bastes itself in that misogyny and corruption. How little sympathy it extends to its characters is maddening to see. I would like to say it has even less respect for its audiences but it is simply too unaware of itself and stupid to know the difference to be able to even think that little of its audiences.

Okay y'all need to fucking stop with this shit. Why the fuck is every Asian American movie about generational trauma and a tiger mom who doesn't know how to accept their children? Incredible how this is basically Turning Red in that its central conflict stems from the tiger mom not being able to accept her daughter for who she is and its resolution is found in the acceptance between them. But instead of turning into a red panda they travel…
