If this weren't for Denzel this movie would have been forgotten a long time ago. He really is the only highlight in this one

Beau Travail 1999
Im always skeptical of films about post colonialism coming from the French but this was executed perfectly. The whole aspects on the military and masculinity are so well executed. This film let itself breathe in the environment it created for itself. That was my first Claire Denis film and I’m was blown away by how much was on point especially the mise en scene

I'm Still Here 2024
Yeah, this one really hit me hard, not only devastating, and it managed to keep this beauty and hope alive for most of the movie to later transfer that hope into a different type of hope that moved me even more. Fernanda Torres gave me one of the best performances I've seen on screen in a while. Her mother, Fernanda Montenegro, playing the same character later in life was extremely touching and significant in the portrayal of the matriarch in this film. Loved it even tho it really hit me hard

Really wished i liked it more but the writing and how much on the nose it is just bothered me a lot. I really liked the performances and the body horror looked great. But I watch something that couldve been great just be dragged down by the script. Still enjoyed it but i was expecting more
