I saw X opening night and walked away certain I had just watched my new favorite slasher film and met the final girl I had been waiting my entire life for. The fresh take on 70s grindhouse while exploring themes such as the horror of aging, porn as an art form, and the lust for stardom resonated with me. X became my obsession. 6 months later my obsession grew when Pearl was released and Mia Goth gave one of my…

    Spring break forever, bitches

This aged like fine wine. Even better than when I saw it the first time 10 years ago.

If Spring Breakers was released today people would be all over it. Completely hypnotizing and ahead of it’s time visually.

Rachel Korine, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Benson go all in and really sell the hedonistic nightmare.

A ton of fun and never takes itself too seriously. I see the satire and it works for me. Just get lost in the neon lights and enjoy the eternal sprinnnng breaaaaaak.

This went platinum on my tumblr back in the day. I love Coppola‘s stylized approach and how it humanizes these historical figures. The costume design is gorgeous. The new wave/post-punk soundtrack mixed with period music lives rent free in my head. The aesthetic is on point!

    Remember, you are one.

My jaw is on the floor.

The Substance is incredible!!! The body horror is no joke. I couldn’t take my eyes away from the twisted imagery. Every scene kept pushing it to a new grotesque level. I was hooked from the first frame and this film never lets up. The ending is completely bonkers.

Genuinely interesting concept that is executed beyond well. A blend of so many genres and themes I love. Showgirls and Death Becomes Her vibes but…

I just hope it never ends

I love this trilogy and Maxine Minx with all my heart. I need some time to process all my thoughts but I am beaming with happiness despite the glaring flaws.

I’ve never been so unsure how to rate a film before. My heart says one thing but my logic can’t see past the issues.
