I saw it said, and I can’t help but agree, but A24 Horror is becoming disappointingly formulaic.
The writing and Directorial debut of Mark Anthony Green, Opus is a letdown. It’s weak stuff that, by the end, has nothing interesting or new to say or do.
In the vein of many cult Horror movies like Midsommar, the film frustratingly ends up being nothing but a bland, watered-down version of… well… Midsommar, and nothing else.
It was certainly a joy seeing…

    Black Bag

    ★★★★½

From Director Steven Soderbergh and writer David Koepp comes Black Bag, the duo’s 2nd film in the first 3 months of 2025, and unlike Presence which I had mixed feelings on, I thought Black Bag was EXCELLENT and EASILY one of the greatest spy thrillers since Jason Bourne closed out his OG trilogy!

The 4th film by Robert Eggers.
So this was an absolute motherfucking Horror MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!
Robert Egger’s Nosferatu is a true masterwork of cinema! So insanely engrossing and visually striking and compelling and just really damn frightening!
It’s epic, it’s scary, it’s a marvel to look at, this is a new staple of the Horror genre!
Robert Eggers is one of the greatest Directors working today, no question! The cinematography by Jarin Blaschke is absolutely, genuinely breathtaking, and the whole supporting…

    ★★★★½

Wow, this was one disturbing movie!
Deep, dark and extremely unnerving, Red Rooms is a striking and absolutely fascinating character study of a woman dangerously obsessed with a serial killer on trial.
Powerfully Directed by Pascsl Plante, who also delivers a screenplay worthy of an Oscar nomination, Red Rooms is a film that very subtly and quietly gets under your skin, and then really repeatedly yanks you down into into the scary depravity of several really disturbed people.
    It’s extremely…
