  I connect with this movie each time I watch it. I'd just love to "high-five" Sofia Coppola for this one. The chemistry between Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson is unreal. If anyone needs a masterclass in how body language can be used in acting, this is as good as it gets.
  I'm a sucker for a great story and great storytelling. Coppola nails it and without her sensibility, this could've been a sleeper.
  Perfect.

  Requiem for a Dream 2000

  Feels like the first time everytime I watch it. I can rave for pages about this movie but won't. If you have any love for cinema, just watch this at least twice.
  Fast cuts, crazy shots, insane editing, awesome split screens, kick-ass acting, offbeat angles all serving a relevant and horribly disturbing story.
  In one word : Legendary.

  Unfortunate.
  At most, this could've been mildly entertaining as a stand-alone film with nods to The Shining through artistry instead of a being a questionable spinoff.
  Acting was pretty ordinary. I've felt similar levels of suspense and thrills while watching Bambi. I'm not familiar with Flanagan's work but I will admit appreciating several pretty shots(dolly) throughout the film. They were pretty but unfortunately ineffective. When we hit the scene where we clearly learn what motivates the antagonist(s), the whole thing becomes awkward and blasphemous towards Kubrick's monument.
  In one word, useless.
