Quick notes and comments for myself after seeing it:
Loved the trailer and was excited about seeing it. Mixed feelings about it as I really liked the book publishing parts. I really liked the tone of satire and racial commentary. Wright was good.
But all the mother / family / brother stuff did not land for me. A lot of it I felt was awkward and didn't mix in well with the rest. I can't remember the last time the tone of a film left scratching my head like this.

Great screening of the film. I liked the Lobster a lot but didn't expect to like Poor Things as much as I did. I'm writing notes a week after, which really gets in the way of the feelings I had right after the screening. I need to get in the habit of putting these notes down a few days after and not longer.

The first thing I noticed about the film is the constant high intensity music from the start. It's interesting how a layer of music like this can help lock a viewer in. Not a bad idea to do for a long film that is mostly people talking.
