The Brutalist 2024
This is one of the tougher ones to review. Really, I see it twofold: the first half, a beautiful movie, really relatable character development, beautiful acting, amazing shots and an even better score (I’m such a sucker for movie scores and this movie really emphasized it for me, not that it is complex - it was just that fitting). I was really sat on my seat wandering what was gonna be the story for the second half of the movie…

The Grand Budapest Hotel 2014
Wes Anderson you genius. This movie right here, this is art. From the quirky characters, to the still frames and centering of the camera, guiding the audience to focus solely on the chaotic unfolding of events in front of them. Rarely have I seen such fitting and symbiotic characters comply with the art of the cinematography. Not a dull moment, as the end simply cleared off every question, as well as it strung everything left unclear together. This movie is, simply, art - and I loved every second of it.
