  Ok.

  It’s so mid. There’s nothing special about this movie, and knowing it’s a remake makes it even worse. James McAvoy overacts and it’s so annoying. Ant’s character is not developed enough for his final big moment to be climactic enough, and the dad is such a twerp all the way to the end. No arc for this guy apparently. You lose a lot of the mystery and tension way too early as well. Just mid.

  This is a masterpiece. Malick, you genius. This probably had the most stacked cast of all time, and a cameo from Clooney. This is probably now my favorite war film. There is no gimmick to this film, it’s so pure. It’s art and it’s not trying to be something that it’s not. It’s not trying to be something at all, it just is. It’s tragic and emotional.
