For the longest time in college this was my comfort movie. Life may suck but at least I’m not dying on a barricade while my country abandons me right?
Anyway, stellar performances from almost everyone, the set design and costuming was incredible, and the visual parallels throughout were perfectly placed. The barricade boys’ heaven being a successful barricade with support will never fail to make me emotional.
Anyway again, do you hear the people sing??
Overall pretty good. I remember reading the story when it first came happened, so I was very interested to see a movie telling the story. I really liked the little details throughout, like watching the divers get ready to go down, decompression, etc. It definitely captured the feeling of fear and suffocation all throughout- the entire movie felt like a drawn out anxiety attack. But for real, it was spooky, it was fun, Owen Wilson was a fake priest, it kind of hurt??? My husband cried so that says something. Lakeith Stanfield was amazing too, like this movie is good. I really liked the little callbacks to the rides themselves.
