Another amazing A24 film. I feel like I’ll need to think over this more so this review is just my first thoughts. I really loved the way they were able to get across such a deep, meaningful message with very little dialogue. The ability to make me feel like I truly understood the thoughts and feeling of a silent sheet was something I never could have expected.
The message I was left with was that death is inevitable, loss will…
Amazing! A great example of a postmodern film. Joel’s portrayal of his emotional state and self reflection through his art was wonderful. I think He truly captured the essence of loneliness. Of course not all of the acting was perfect but I can easily overlook that in this context. With it being free on YouTube there’s no reason to not go watch this!
Hadn't heard of this stand up before seeing this pop up on Netflix, but I'm so glad I did! This was one of my favorite comedy shows I've watched in a long time. Netflix keeps pumping these specials out and I find the vast majority to be awful cash grabs, glad to see there are still some good ones out there!
At first I thought I really liked this movie, and I did in the moment. After thinking it over more though I realized it wasn't actually very good. Little to no explanation of the plot, it presents you with countless questions that never get an answer. Though I can't say I'm familiar with the short story this is based on so maybe that would provide more context.
