yet another miss from del toro in terms of plot (two stars for the commitment to the gothic aesthetics tho). embarrassingly stupid characters, a mess that feels as empty as it is visually stimulating. no amount of hot actors (pretty much charlie hunnam existing) could save it.

i would want to rewatch it to write a full review. for now, i gotta say i haven't laughed this hard for a long time. extremely romanian, most of the humor will probably be lost in translation. yet how grateful i am for it to exist so unapologetically.
