too clunky for my liking and seemed very superfluous in its understanding of intimacy- both familial and romantic. i also despised the moments where the characters articulate the shortcomings/cliches of the script in a show of "self awareness" or rather an underhanded breaking of the fourth wall- but this could just be the personal bias i have against this modality of filmmaking.
