A few things I really liked from the really cool pages on Asako I&II in the latest Cahiers du Cinéma (#751, January 2019):

Asako I & II 2018
I've been dying to rewatch this for months. I literally couldn't wait any longer and went as soon as it released, they've been killing me these last few weeks, putting the (strangely very good) trailer before too many movies I went to see. Anyway! This was the most relatable movie of 2018 and it's probably gonna be the most relatable one of 2019 as well, it feels really good to start a new year of cinema with it.
