looked around the theater frantically after this was done to try and debrief with anyone…anyone at all. that’s the power of cinema baby!!
heavy handed in some places, laughable in others, but very worthwhile. considering a second round watch because i can’t imagine looking at this on anything but the biggest screen possible.

gator skin boots and parking a boat smack dab in the middle of the street for true love? now that’s romance!
on a personal note, i absolutely must rock a full gator skin fit in this lifetime. maybe one of the boys from swamp people has the connect?
watch this space.

lush, sweeping, and evocative, eve’s bayou’s star studded cast is beautifully spotlighted by writer/director kasi lemmons. need to see more of her work, need her to (get funding to!) write and direct more.
lynn whitfield, debbi morgan, & diahann carroll are so beautiful it hurts, but when are they not?
