Pather Panchali 1955
Just phenomenal. So ahead of its time, especially in lighting and shot selection. Every look, every word, and every movement from each actor is clinically precise to allow for minimalistic storytelling to create vivid characters and weave visceral tales. How Ray managed to turn children, trees, puddles and kittens into these incredible performers is beyond me.
Mind-blowing directorial prowess on display from a master of the craft. Wow.

A sequel worth making, but carried by cinematography.
My main measure of whether a sequel is a cash cow or worth making is this: can I picture the people involved with the original film having planned this sequel as well before the first one was made?

For a sequel to such a great film I expected fairly little but was pleasantly surprised.
While no Foster, Moore did an acceptable job of bringing Clarice to life. Hopkins, as always, was outstanding. The plot brought enough fresh material without losing sight of the characters and the scenarios that allowed audiences to get to know them in Lambs.
