There is something brilliant in the simplicity of this movie, simple both in the positive sense of not overdoing things and the ironic sense of juxtaposing its main character. Just as an artwork should, Being there raises more questions than it answers, in an almost insidious innocence, and it leaves you just a tad been less comfortable with the world.
