Another Sean Baker home run. Enthralling from the jump. Annie/Anora (Mikey Madison) was outstanding as she plays this funny, cute, badass, delusional, fearless and broken girl all packaged in one. The film lays out an extremely real feeling storyline filled with chaos, insanity, wonder, and comedic relief. The weaving in of the cast was excellent as was Igor (Yura Borisov). Very satisfying ending (although I wouldn’t mind a sequel). A one size fits all movie.
Been 18 years since I’ve seen this, so I am treating it as a new movie. Just wow. Thank god for the happy ending. The amount of letdowns and pain Chris (Will Smith) endures from start to finish, I almost couldn’t take it anymore as a viewer. But we are lucky to be exactly that, a viewer. Homelessness is reality for millions of Americans. This movie is perfect to make you take a minute (or 118) to appreciate your life. Those who set their minds to something and are doers, deserve absolute glory AND happiness. His son (Jaden Smith) was incredible.
One of the most captivating movies I've seen in a while. In a world where Donald Trump is somehow one of the most fascinating people, Sebastian Stan nailed it and got even better as the evolution of his character unfolded. Jeremy Strong stole the show and was phenomenal as Roy Cohn. Left the movie somehow more dumbfounded, how there was what seemed to be a mastermind behind the villain we know today. Because no one can be this vile and vicious on their own right? Maria Bakalova was also fantastic as Ivana. 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10. Must see.
