    “You shitters!!”

    I watched Christine at Dennis Phelps’ house on HBO in 1985. As a 12 year old, it was an incredible viewing experience. 
    Revisiting it 37 years later is a little different. The soundtrack is INCREDIBLE. The best 50’s compilation pound for pound of any movie, and that includes American Graffiti.  Also, I need to find a BTS video to see how the car self-repair sequences were accomplished.     What a great addition to the meta-horror genre. The main elements here are very tightly constructed. The use of color in the practical lighting adds a lot, as does the editing. It is not a perfect film, but Niamh Algar is restrained, right until she isnt. Bailey-Bond should be right at the top of up and coming horror writer/directors. Actually, she’s arrived.
