Beautifully atmospheric, from the rundown apartment complex, to the waterfront street they lived near. It has all of the creepiness you want in a ghost story, but I loved that it was tragic and sweet instead of the usual dark twist that someone did something sinister to cause the tragedy. This is such a simple story. It’s almost impressive that the US remake was so bad when it should have been a layup.
