Denis loves his landscapes and his spooky landscape music. I love it too. I learned things about the CIA and how thermal cams work. I find conversations about the US opioid epidemic and how it affects other countries fascinating, so I appreciated the plot, morbid as it is. Wouldn’t recommend it as a breakfast movie, which is exactly what Sam did.
I always enjoy dramatic Peter Sarsgaard, and I think John Magaro did his role justice as well. As an uneducated neophyte who was 20 years short of being alive for the event, I could’ve used a little more build up to the day of, and the movie was short enough it could have handled it. Cinematic journey through spacetime with balanced emotional scenes and comedic relief, including questionable physics and absolutely incorrect chemistry.
Perhaps (or perhaps not) would have enjoyed this middle age jaunt through Agincourt more if I knew literally anything about any King Henrys other than those of the wifely beheading-persuasion, but as it is I struggled to maintain interest as the main man-boy attempted to figure out how to do the thing he had literally been born for. 🤴🏻
