I thought this was just okay? I love time travel/time warp concept movies and I saw some rave reviews for this so I guess I expected a little more. The concept is cute and I did enjoy some of the comedic aspects but there wasn’t much in the way of character, and the actual application of the time loop fell a little flat for me. I did enjoy the scene where the protag’s friends are stuffing his pockets before the big fight though.

The performances are so excellent from everyone here, I especially loved Barry Keoghan’s Dominic, and Collin Farrell can truly do no wrong. I love the little moments like the bell striking four times as Padraic sits down at the pub after thinking he’s patched things up with Colm. Also yay for the anti-cop sentiment.

Just found myself really bored by this. The world didn’t feel real to begin with so why should I care or be surprised when it isn’t? It sure “feels like a movie” because everyone looks like they’re playing pretend

This feels like if Darren Aronofsky’a mother! was (loosely) based on real events. Only instead of the feeling of suffocation and anxiety building throughout the film, these jarringly intense trauma porn sequences are just scattered randomly across the longest movie ever. There are some undeniably interesting ideas in here and certain shots I have seen nothing quite like, but nothing is realized well enough to justify this fever dream of a “biopic”
