This is one of those tightly put together Soderberg movies where he shows off what he can do with a modest budget and some stellar performances. So much attention to detail. One scene, with two of the main guys in a fishing boat, was framed in such an unexpected and unusual way, it made me laugh out loud.

That leak in the apartment made so uncomfortable. Like, PTSD level uncomfortable.
Ken Jacobs was one of my college film professors and he made us watch this film that he "made". When I say he "made" it, what I mean is he bought some film canisters on the street for $1 and this film reel happened to be in one of them. He showed it completely unedited, untouched, exactly as he found it, and he named it "Perfect Film."
Still, it was not the most annoying thing he made us watch.
This movie wrecked me, but I'm ok with that because I had a really good cry. Perfect performances by John Cho and Mia Isaac, and beautiful dynamic between them. I've been a fan of John Cho for a long time. Will be keeping an eye out for more projects from Mia Isaac now too.
Saw the world premiere at Tribeca Festival and in the Q&A afterwards, Mia couldn't hold it together and John kept trying to comfort her. It was adorable! They had several group hugs with Hannah Marks. And they also managed to answer some questions.
