What I deemed early on to be a non-narrative turned out to totally have a plot the entire time!! Maybe one of the strangest/best ‘dream state’ movies I’ve seen. Animation threw me off the entire time tho. It’s like it was filmed and then every frame was drawn over by a child.
Lots of interesting ideas thrown around in a huge mess that is this film… but it works. Just a bunch of people trying to make sense of the world around them, so demure
I liked the pacing shift after the first act a whole lot, really marked the shift in tone well
This must’ve been hell to shoot 😭 the dialogue is all over the place but it really works
Low-budget movies like this taking home the hardware is so cool and hopefully inspires more indie filmmakers to follow through with their visions
Movies need to start introducing more characters like this
Super entertaining and I think the Dude’s disposition plays really really well with the rest of the plot
We had (wrongly) assumed that we were signing up for a comedy and for whatever reason continued to believe that it was going to come back to being comedy… it diverged as far as possible…
Still good, but Ryan Reynolds in a horror movie is a strange mix
