Genuinly the best film I saw in 2022, probably one of my all time favourites. It ticked all the boxes; made me cry, laugh, contemplate life, it involved action and betrayal, everything... it's genuinly a beautiful film. Incredibly well observed and an absolute joy to watch. The cinematography is sublime and the screenwriting is beautifully comedic and intuitive. The director places you only a stones throw away from the beach in your own childhood as she utilises the brilliant dynamic of an unconventional family on holiday. The acting feels natural and heartfelt, and carries this highly ambiguous, but technical, story. We can think what we’d like to in the end, but the subtle foreshadowing does inevitably lead us to realise the tragic outcome. What a contribution to modern cinema.
