  Don’t worry in classic Pre-Code fashion the murder happens shockingly far into the movie. 

  Carole Lombard couldn’t make a bad picture. Pat O’Brien really stood out to me, this was the first project I've seen him in a leading role and man he can do some nuanced work. The character of Jimmy was quite outdated at times but that’s not exactly shocking- given the subject and time period I’m pretty pleased with it overall!

  Well great news, Rope is still a perfect movie. 

  Farley Granger is the best basket case, and Joan Chandler is SO underrated in the pantheon of Hitchcock’s ladies. Probably because she wasn’t blonde 😬

  What a gorgeous breath of fresh air.

  I caught the live stream on the Criterion Channel on a whim and my god am I glad I did! 

  From the opening title card to the faux trailer this movie captures my attention so instantly and kept me transfixed the whole time. 

  I truly do not understand why more people are not singing the praises of this film! 

  I desperately need to read more Flannery O’Conner.
