    FINALLY got to see this one, I've been waiting for a long time. And it was well worth the wait.

    ”The Favourite”, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, might be the most immersive period piece I think I’ve ever seen. Seriously. Because I never found myself ”falling out”, so-to-speak, during the film in terms of the time in which the film is set. Probably a lot due to Yorgos’ fascinating way of shooting it and the cinematography.

    The decision to wait to reveal the antagonist’s identity until near the end of the film was probably done deliberately - however, I don't think it really worked in the film's favor, to be fair.     THAT FUCKING TWIST... oh my god.
    My jaw was seriously on the floor when it happened, and the film just turned bat-shit crazy from there on out...

    But on a more serious note though, it's really impressive how this movie was made with an extremely tight budget by a bunch of young, Danish film school graduates (this is director Gustav Möller’s debut film!). And only shot in a single room, and with only three cameras.
    Damn, that is seriously inspirational...
