  Rewatched it for the third time. It always feels so personal. I loved it when I was 12, and I absolutely still love it to this day. Such beautiful shots and overall such a captivating yet disturbing queer film.

  Slow paced, graceful, diary-like film, that consists of quiet moments that contribute to the intimate environment Trace Lysette creates. I believe this is one of the best films that portrays transness how I’ve always been wanting to see. No stereotypical tragedy where the trans individual dies in the end. But instead just depicting life. Depicting family relationships. Intimate moments. Simplicity. Without an overwhelming amount of dialogue, this film gives you space to breathe, and time to soak in the raw, beautifully shot moments that appear on screen.

  I found it difficult to give this film my full attention. I thought it was super boring and after forcing myself to keep watching it, I finally gave up an 1 hour and a half into it. Numerous unnecessary scenes that don’t correlate w/ the “plot”. I really can’t fathom why this film is so highly rated.
