Babygirl 2024
A handful of compelling scenes and an interesting concept but I was just not invested and didn’t care about these characters! Power dynamics, consent, kink, fantasy and sexual repression are worthy and stimulating themes but everything was slightly undercooked and felt superficial. Lots of seeds planted but very little fruit. Sorry but Nicole didn’t sell it for me this time.

Some great sequences, love the hilarity of the men fumbling at every turn, pathetically trying to find the ultimate mummas boy. Though sometimes it was erring towards too slapstick. Mikey Madison did a fantastic job as Anora despite the lack of depth to the character - I didn’t believe why she continued to be so attached to Ivan … I don’t buy that she fell so hard in love after one week and held on that tightly to the idea…
