I love this first purge outing. The film is a chilling and thought provoking take on dystopian horror, blending social commentary with suspense in a way that feels unsettlingly plausible. While its premise is undeniably fabricated, the underlying themes of government control, class division and sanctioned violence resonate disturbingly in today’s shifting political climate. The film thrives on its eerie tension, effectively capturing a 1984 / Big Brother atmosphere of surveillance and authoritarianism.

Deadpool & Wolverine 2024
Watched with two other film geeks - Colin and Emily. Again, another humorous entry. Lots of fun pop culture zingers etc, can be a tad over reliant on the 3rd outing from Deadpool. Good music - loved the Madonna scene. Think I need to brush up on my X-Men knowledge to appreciate the film more.
