"I want each and every one of them torn to shreds!"

5 elite special forces soldiers, are ambushed on their leave. By a ruthless drug cartel , they found themselves out gunned, outnumbered and on the run. In this thrilling boy’s own action romp , from Mexico. Watched on Netflix.

“Mr. Malone, can I ask you a question? Are you a criminal?”

“I'm sure you could find some people who think so.”

Not one of Burt Reynolds best, let down by a weak script lifeless direction. Paper thin bad guys, still it’s got Reynolds going for it. Which kept me going to the end, Reynolds plays a former CIA agent. Who ends up in rural small town America, helping a farmer against a ruthless villain . In this 80s Shane clone , watched on Amazon Prime.

“He thinks it will help him live longer.“

Guillermo del Toro’s directing debut, is an imaginative reimagining of the vampire narrative. Featuring all the elements, that  would become a staple of his career. Eerie atmospheres , suspense , fantasy, unique looking creatures , warped in dark fairytales, and of course Ron Perlman . Federico Luppi , gives a tragic and hunting performance. Which is the backbone of movie, there’s also some nice practical and markup effects. Watched in 4K UltraHD from BFI .

“It's been a while since we had a traitor to dinner. At least knowingly.“

Classic old school espionage thriller, warped up in a tense game of Whodunnit. From director Steven Soderbergh, with a slick script from David Koepp. Anchored by captivating  performances, from the always brilliant Michael Fassbender and the equally talented and beautiful Cate Blanchett .  Watched at the cinema.
