  ok this was literally so cool… i just started my mandatory post-watch wikipedia deep dive. writer/director john cameron mitchell describes Shortbus as “not…meant to arouse, we try to de-eroticize the sex to see what kinds of emotions and ideas are left over when the haze of eroticism is waved away.” Shortbus tackles such a diverse array of subject material in just 100 minutes, but to consequently call it ‘more than just the sex’ would be a disservice to the sex…

  finally got around to this movie and i genuinely can’t believe reactions have been so polarized? the musical format felt awkward at first but really came into its own with songs like “para” “el amor” and “mi camino.” zoe saldaña the oscar is yours 😭🤞
