This film broke me, normally for something like this I’d do a lengthy review because it’s that good it deserves it but that would reveal too much of the film and I believe to fully appreciate it, your better off knowing nothing.

For a directorial debut it doesn’t get much better than this, love seeing Malicks style back in his debut as you can see he still had elements of what his future films turned into as early as this. A cold unpredictable look at a bad situation spiralling out of control but while evil is occurring, the way the surroundings are shot mask the violence that’s being shown on screen.

One of the most well written films I’ve seen, an absolutely enticing thriller touching on class, obsession, life and much more. While it’s certainly a slow burn, it certainly doesn’t get boring throughout its runtime.
