    Mickey 17

    ★★★★

It surprised me that - from the first minutes - Mickey 17 felt very much like a Bong Joon Ho film in the way the story was told.
What also surprised me was how it moved into mad sci-fi, clever satire and an endless array of bizarre twists and turns.
Robert Pattinson is fantastic as Mickey 17 (and all other Mickeys), and there isn't really a poor performance anywhere in the film.
It's funny, interesting, shocking and endlessly enjoyable. It…

    Nightbitch

    ★★★

When you're flying from Bucharest to Manchester and have a few hours to spare, it seems like a good time to watch a film that you probably wouldn't actively make the time for at home. So, Nightbitch was the obvious choice.

    Nosferatu

    ★★★★★

Nosferatu was as close to perfection as a horror film can really get. Certain scenes were genuinely unnerving, the music from Robin Carolan was overpowering, and the performances were stellar.
Lilly-Rose Depp put her all in as Ellen, Nicholas Hoult was believably terrified as Thomas, and none of the cast fell short. Of course, Count Orlok needs a mention because - yet again - Bill Skarsgard proves why he's one of the current best actors around. From his voice and…
