Solid film, but underwhelming in some ways. Feels stuck in a tug of war between horror film and sentimental family drama. I like Steven Spielberg, but he should've let Tobe Hooper lean more into the darker elements. Also couldn't help but laugh when the the little southern psychic lady showed up.

This is definitely the spiritual successor to the Man with No Name trilogy, and that is a very good thing.
