  Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2018

  I haven't entirely decided if this is the best Spider-Man movie ever, but it's definitely in the running. The animation and direction are wildly creative, the script is clever, and the voice acting is spot on - and most importantly, it gets Spider-Man so, so well.

  Is this the best cinematic Christmas Carol? Maybe. Caine is a top-3 Scrooge, for sure.

  This was much, much stranger than I was expecting. A great cast of character actors, a script that's occasionally a little too on-the-nose, and a score that's just jarringly weird. I kinda loved it.

  I cannot believe this was released by a major studio in 1999, though - the subject matter seems more like something Full Moon would have shot with Jeffrey Combs in Bulgaria.
