No. A pretty movie and pretty good acting does not a good film make. This film couldn’t decide how arty it wanted to be and was frankly a slog.

I only have two takeaways. 1. Cate Blanchet really did an amazing job in The Aviator as Katharine Hepburn. Amazing. Now that I’ve seen this, I appreciate her performance even more. Spot on. 2. I liked Cate Blanchet as Katharine Hepburn much more than the annoying performance of the actual Katharine Hepburn. This movie may be a twist on the romantic comedy, but that doesn’t make it good. To me.

This double crossing assassin action feast is half beautifully weird/silly/sexy-ish high octane fun and half a confusing poorly edited mess. I like it. My only Suzuki as of this writing, wondering if the rest of his catalog follows suite. Def influenced QT endlessly.

Undoubtably the overused word "Hitchcockian" will appear in most reviews of this film. I'm not sure, I haven't read them but look, it appears in this one! Great slow burn suspense tale that simmers with anxiety and frustration. Even if you're sick of Holocaust films, this one is worth a watch, especially for more patient viewers as the ending satisfies so enormously.
