Son of the White Mare 1981
Pretty but empty. Like with many other flashy films Fehérlófia is impressive to look at but after a short while I found myself growing bored and had trouble paying attention. Visual stimulation without emotion simply isn't enough for me, and there is nothing compelling or engaging here in my opinion. By that I mean in regards to not only story and characters but also the imagery itself, which in other films can evoke emotion in isolation but that is not the case here. At least not for me.

The film is technically well-made with some beautiful shots and impressive long takes. The premise is interesting and it succeeds at what it is attempting to do. Unfortunately like many (if not all) metaphorical works or works that focus on commentary it attempts a metanarrative to its detriment. I'm really getting sick of this.
