Death is fickle and so is this film. Journey through grief and relived trauma with Lee Chandler (played by Casey Affleck) who is thrown back into a town where he can’t escape the reality of his past. After the death of a family member, blue collar Lee returns home to handle the aftermath. While death itself is never easy, Lee’s painful past makes his visit to Manchester by the Sea even more harrowing.
