A blunt commentary of the crass and callous French high society in 1939. Senseless killing of rabbits and pheasant for "sport" is just an example of how oblivious the upper class was to the looming WW2. A bit of farce sprinkled in with a mistaken identity of lovers and jealous husbands. Brilliant camera work for its day especially the long corridor shots.

Tom Cruise eat your heart out... Thelma is a badass grandma! The Mission Impossible like score sets the mood for this funny yet touching caper where Thelma takes matters in her own hands to recover her money from the crooks. A cute film.

Lots of actual footage I have not seen previously in other documentary films of WW2 that is amazing, heart wrenching, bringing a new perspective. The impact is accentuated by the film colorization added sound.

Chopin's piano compositions are the perfect backdrop for this pilgrimage of two cousins to Poland to honor their beloved grandmother who survived the holocaust. Incredible performances by Eisenberg and Culkin, and awesome cinematography by Michał Dymek.
