Mickey is supposed to be a disposable worker, someone thrown into brutal conditions. But Pattinson, with his perfect jaw/face, never feels like a real expendable. They needed someone more… forgettable. Someone with the face of a guy who’s been through hell and back.I keep seeing Steve Buscemi, That would’ve sold the concept better.
The film throws around interesting ideas but never sits with them long enough to make an impact
the scene where the creepers start making that fucking noise.…
I Never felt bad or had any empathy for the protagonist, she never loved the guy, she was in love with the lifestyle.
In the final scene you can see that she sees sex as currency, saying “thank you” to Igor, I would have loved in that scene to show him rejecting her, leaving her completely exposed—not physically, but emotionally—stripping away the illusion that she was the good one in the story and revealing her true nature. The film could have ended at the very moment her catharsis began, making for a more powerful and fitting conclusion.
