  It’s a pretty standard marvel movie, but the more I think of it the more I dislike it. The character motivations are all fairly basic. There’s some interesting global relations stuff that fizzles out when the movie remembers it needs to destroy some landmarks.  The villain blend is really unsatisfying and overestimates how much people care about The Incredible Hulk (2008). There isn’t even any memorable humor in here.

  As a Duluth resident I’m very biased, but this was really solid. The main character is especially likable. The romance is just ok, but it takes a backseat to the main story.

  It’s a little overstuffed (especially for a part 1), it gets a little too twisted up towards the end, and I didn’t like that the main villain’s relation to Ethan’s past was so synthetic and thrown in. 

  None of that really matters tho, since the rest of this is FUEGO. Every movie going forward should allocate room in its budget for Pom Klementieff plowing through city streets in a Humvee.
