The Tracey Fragments 2007
something about this quiet boring life and the slow steady hum of everything all in resonance and dissonance and you have to put your ear to someones heart to hear the faint crackling and whispering that goes unnoticed every day because everything is high octane and dramatic and polar. sometimes i want to cry when i think about kids that grow up in houses right on a highway interchange and how every day hundreds of people they will only see…

The Wild Blue Yonder 2005
so lovely <3 feels like childlike wonder and imagination, seeing this big vast world around you and making up any kind of story you want, the ocean is an alien planet and our heroes (or villains?) are just ordinary people. brimming with creativity, and i love love love the soundtrack. sometimes gets a bit boring but it makes up for it elsewhere

A Hole in My Heart 2004
wildly creative and provocative. i think “pointless shock” isnt an accurate description of this. its real; if you check out the bonus behind the scenes clip you can see that moodysson just let them do whatever they wanted. its fucked up because people are fucked up. the structure was super cool and kept the whole thing exciting, and i found the emotionally impactful scenes to be… well emotionally impactful. say what you want about pornography is evil… i think there is some of that here, but mainly this is just the intersection between 4 terribly fucked up lives.

Like Cattle Towards Glow 2015
kind of an impulse watch, it looked interesting so. its alright, its very strange for sure. the actors are all great at being weird awkward and held back, they feel like aliens to earth sometimes. the movie also gets more and more abstract as it goes, with the last being particularly confusing. probably wont come back to this ever but its a cool little art film that takes a dark look at the gay community.
