The Color of Pomegranates 1969
This film is extremely visually striking and lacks any narrative structure aside from the 3 phases of the life of the poet. Every frame is a painting with this one and is backed by simple and hypnotic Armenian music. While I doubt I'll return to this one often, I'm glad I watched it and found its imagery deeply gratifying!

Very sweet and sad. The sequence where she enters her shelled building is very well shot and the lead actress is wonderful! By the end your heart nearly breaks for Veronika but the final scene gives us an endering smile to hope for a for a better tomorrow for our widowed bride to be.
