  Not sure if this is Sorentino losing his marbles and making an almost two-and-a-half-hour exposition of how the male gaze works or an introspection about life, beauty, and youth.

  Here is an atmospheric horror which uses the jump scare technique perfectly. A brilliant film from start to finish, carefully crafted in a way that gives you time to get familiar with the characters and its world first, before unleashing the horror quotient in a smart, bone-chilling fashion.

  Easily my favorite horror of the year, after The Witch and The Wailing.

  Scariest (and one of the best) film I have seen this year.

  And when I say that, I really mean it. I don't get scared often (at all) and mostly laugh throughout your regular Conjuring kind of stuff even when I watch them alone in a dark room at two pm.
