  The quick zoom in on Al Pacino hovering his hand over the holy water and insane gleeful look in his eye killed me. He’s clearly having so much fun

  Truth be told, I dozed off more than once. Woke up just in time to see the Iranian Tim Hortons which was cool. Maybe I’ll rewatch some day down the line when not at the Living Room Theater at 3pm sitting next to some chatty retirees.

  Doesn’t hold a candle to the original, but Denzel and Streep are always solid, even in something this convoluted and ultimately disappointing. Very 2004-style vague politics, Voight plays the voice of reason lol, the brainwashing scene is bonkers but not nearly as effective as the original’s, and the cup of noodles/Chinese food subtext is too funny (and perhaps nonexistent.) 
  It’s 2025, so we might end up getting Tom Holland in a Parallax View remake where he’s forced to watch YouTube shorts of Mr Beast
