  Marclay cuts together shots of people opening and closing doors with matched action and some level of matched emotion. 

  That’s about it. 

  Would’ve been interesting if he’d made any extra effort. This is an archival project that belongs on YouTube with a very minor exhibition narrative, pumped up by verbose art critics.

  Headache took two hours to dissipate, and I’m really surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Not sure if this is one of those art films that people ‘in the know’ feel obligated to like?

  The Paddington sequel, the ‘best rated film of all time’, failed to win a single BAFTA; was completely ignored by the Academy; and has financially earned less than its predecessor: disappointing, to some. However, this lack of accolades are irrelevant to what made Paddington 2, without doubt, the most impactful film of 2017.
