A Thousand and One 2023
Very realistic insight to the struggle for young black women in an inner city like New York. This film has themes of gentrification, the struggle to survive day to day with a child, the meaning of family love and the rough feelings of being a child coming from the foster care system. A very fresh look at inner city family dynamics with secret drama.
I highly recommend the watch and the ending is unexpected and leaves you thinking after it’s over.

River Wild 2023
Not a remake of the 1994 “The” River Wild but still features a bunch of idiots on a raft with only one person who knows what they are doing. Recipe for disaster. The crazy friend gets real crazy, real fast, like super methhead style. The lead woman never reveals what her deal is, and remains boring most of the movie. I guess the take away is to ditch those childhood friends early in life before they try to kill you. Movie was eh, the river scenes were good, the drama was ok, but overall they needed more bear-spray on the bad guy.
